A floor drain is directly connected to a sewer pipe, and once the seal around it ages or is not properly installed, water will directly leak into the mortar layer.

Reason for water leakage:

-The traditional installation method for the interface between the floor drain and the sewer pipe is to seal it with cement or inferior glass glue, which will shrink and crack over time.

-The reserved holes for the floor drain and drainage pipe are not tightly sealed with micro expansion concrete, forming a water seepage channel.

-The condensation of water vapor on the southern surface of Guangzhou will also seep through tiny gaps.

What should I do?

Judgment: Focus on observing the area around the floor drain. You can try removing the floor drain cover and pouring water around the drain opening to observe if the leakage immediately intensifies downstairs.

Solution: If it is an interface issue, you can try digging 1-2 bricks around the floor drain, resealing the pipeline interface with leak proof materials such as "water tight", and replacing it with a high-quality floor drain. This belongs to 'local surgery', which causes much less damage than smashing bricks throughout the house.
