The general methods of indirect reinforcement include:

(1) Non bonded external steel reinforcement method. This method belongs to the traditional reinforcement method, which has the advantages of simple construction, less on-site workload and wet operation, and more reliable force bearing; Suitable for the reinforcement of masonry columns that do not allow for an increase in the cross-sectional size of the original component, but require a significant increase in cross-sectional bearing capacity; Its disadvantage is that the reinforcement cost is relatively high and protective measures similar to steel structures need to be adopted.

(2) Pre stressing strut reinforcement method. This method can significantly improve the bearing capacity of masonry columns, and the reinforcement effect is reliable; Suitable for reinforcing masonry structures in high stress and high strain states; Its disadvantage is that it cannot be used in environments above 60 ℃.
